Room Acoustics Calculators

Free room acoustics calculators for RT60, bass traps, Helmholtz resonators, perforated panel absorbers, QRD diffusers, room modes and acoustic treatment planning.

Measure or estimate room behavior

Start with dimensions, surface materials and measurements. RT60 estimates help you plan treatment before building, while RT60 measurement and Schroeder frequency tools help separate modal bass behavior from the more diffuse midrange and high-frequency field.

Use RT60 when you need a decay-time target for studios, listening rooms, rehearsal spaces or home theaters. Use room modes, standing waves and Schroeder frequency when the problem is uneven bass, long low-frequency decay or listening-position variation.

Choose treatment: bass traps, tuned absorbers and diffusers

Bass traps are the first choice for broad low-frequency control, especially in corners and wall-ceiling boundaries. Tuned absorbers such as Helmholtz resonators and perforated panel absorbers are better when measurements show one stubborn narrow-band mode that broad porous treatment cannot control.

Diffusers are useful after decay and early reflections are controlled. Use QRD diffusion on rear walls or larger listening spaces when you want scattered energy and spaciousness instead of more absorption.
